On Friday we went to Ambury Farm. It was amazing. We had so much fun and learnt lots about many different farm animals. There was so much to take in. Luckily we took lots of pictures and videos.
Here are the highlights of our day. Have fun watching!
At the moment we are learning about plants and how they grow. This week we made some Hairy Herb Heads. First we all got a tin can. Next we needed to hammer holes in the bottom of tin cans so the water could drain out. It was a bit tricky so we worked together and helped each other. After that we painted the tins with paint to decorate them. The next day, when the paint was dry we filled the tins with soil and planted some grass seeds. Finally we watered the seeds. Now all we need to do is wait for the grass to grow. Check out the photos and videos of us making our Hairy herb Heads. We will keep you posted with how they grow!
On Friday to mark the end of Cook Island Language Week, the Cook Island group performed for the whole school. Nora and Vira'ava represented the Bears and did us proud. They looked amazing and their performance was fantastic. Go Nora and Vira'ava!!
Today we learnt how to say 'Ko toku pupu apii ko Brave Bears' which means 'We are in the Brave Bears' We showed how brave we are by going on a bear hunt!
Today's challenge was to ask 'how are you?' and respond with 'I am good thanks'. We had to do it to five teachers. We got so good at it we made it into a chant. We hope you enjoy it!
Last week was Maori Language Week. This year to celebrate, we are going to learn a different word each week. The first word of the week was 'apopo' which means tomorrow. Check out our video of us using it!

On Thursday we were very lucky because we got some new furniture for our classroom. It is cool because all the furniture is at different levels and we get to choose which level we want to work at. When the furniture arrived we all worked together to decide how we wanted to set up our classroom. Here are some pictures of us exploring our exciting new furniture and moving it into place. You can also see our finished room. We are very proud of it. We think it looks a mazing and can't wait to do lots of learning in it!
On Tuesday we went to the Auckland Botanical Gardens to have a Teddy Bears Picnic. We all got to take our favourite teddy. When we were there we played games, we explored all the cool gardens and we even got to feed some ducks. Check out the video of us feeding the ducks.
We had such a great day as you can probably tell from these photos.....
Our school is having a plant growing competition. Each class has a small plant and a big plant and our job is to make our plants grow as tall as we can! Our little plant started at 16cm tall and our big plant was 39cm. Here are Jahliyah and Vira'ava measuring them for us.
On Wednesday we had the very sad task of saying goodbye to Mr Mac and wishing him luck at his new school. The Busy Bees sang a song to show Mr Mac how much we appreciate everything he has done for us and how much we will miss him. He really enjoyed it. Check it out!
What a great start to the year we have made! This week we have been busy branding ourselves. We decided to call ourselves the Brave Bears. Our motto is 'Growling to Success'.
